The famous food in Johor 


1.  NASI AMBANG 






Nasi ambeng or Nasi ambang is an Indonesian fragrant rice dish that consists of but is not limited steamed white rice, chicken curry or chicken stewed in soy sauce, beef or chicken rendang, sambal goreng, fried sambal, a mildly spicy stir-fried stew commonly made with firm tofutempeh, and long beans, urapbergedil, and serunding.

It is a popular Javanese cuisine, especially within the Javanese-Malay communities in Singapore and the Malaysian states of Johor and Selangor where they also added fried noodles as additional condiments.

Nasi ambeng is often served communal dining-style on a platter to be shared among four to five people especially during festive or special occasions such as a kenduri.



2. LAKSA JOHOR  





Laksa Johor is a delicious traditional food from the state of Johor, a state in the south of Peninsular Malaysia. Laksa Johor can be eaten as a meal in celebrations, ceremonies, or festive days. Usually the people of Johor serve this food on Hari Raya or in certain occasions.

Laksa Johor is a set of food consisting of spaghetti, with Laksa Johor gravy with side dishes such as cucumber slices, onion, sliced ​​kesum leaves or selaseh leaves, musk lime, bean sprouts and sambal belacan. Apart from these ingredients, some districts in Johor eat Laksa Johor with long bean slices and sambal belacan.


3.  MEE BANDUNG 




Mee Bandung or Mi Bandung is a famous traditional cuisine and food originating from Muar, Johor, Malaysia. The word 'bandung' in its name stems from the meaning of the word which means 'double' or 'twin' or 'paired' where something is paired or mixed with something else. For example, 'Syrup Bandung' for milk drinks in conjunction with rose-flavored syrup or 'Rumah Berbandung' for semi-detached houses.


As for Mee Bandung, it is a dish of noodles and eggs only in the past, it was called that, in addition to the ingredients of a mixture of chili and sauteed onions with spices, belacan and dried shrimp; before it was now added with additives such as shrimp, meat, fish cakes and vegetables now. 

It is also more popular and commonly known as Mee Bandung Muar which has become a famous and favorite food throughout Malaysia even though it is recognized and known by many original Bandung Mee from Muar is still the best and tasty to taste.
Bandung noodles should not be confused and misunderstood to be related and originate from Bandung, a place in Indonesia because both are not directly related.

1.   AIR KATIRA  





This drink is popular especially in the state of Johor. Some say it comes from Pakistan, South India, and some think it comes from Singapore. The nutrients are believed to be able to restore energy because in the original katira water recipe is collected various types of fruits - including grape rubber (katira), flowering bowl, raisins, almonds, dates, and fresh milk.



2.  AIR CIKONG 





Air lai chi kang (cikong water) is a refreshing drink and is the best drink of choice during hot weather.
